We had the opportunity to attend the open house for the Oquirrh Mountain Temple and I have to be honest it was 110% better then the open house to the Draper Temple. The spirit was strong, everyone knew where to go and it was so well organize. The Temple inside is BEAUTIFUL and so Peaceful. If you get a chance to go pay close attention to the ordinance rooms and the size and color I am not sure if I can tell you all what I notice that not everyone does. I asked 5 people what that meant and they did not know, on of the lady said I don't know but I think I know who might. His name is Frank and sure enough he knew and told me that it was something that President Hinckley felt it was important so they kept it the way. If you want to know what it is you have to go! if you cant go them email me, I am not sure if I can post it on the blog. Since we are talking about Temples let me tell you a story that I have not shared but last week it came back to me when I was at he Family History Center getting some names ready for the Temple. When I was in Nicaragua this past summer I visited several cemeteries and got family names that I did not have. While at the cemetery I walked past a headstone and it felt like this person was talking to me and I stopped and looked but he was not a family member so I kept going. I walked pasted the same headstone again and it was the same thing but this time I asked my uncle if he knew who this man was and he said yes. I asked him to tell me about him and he said that he was my father's best friend since they were kids, this man died in 2003 and my dad died in 1986. I listen to the story and we started walking again and the voice was stronger and he said don't forget me! and I just felt that I should do his temple work. I hope I don't get in trouble for doing someone work who is not a family member but he was a good friend of the family. When I was at the open house I felt him. He was baptize this past Thursday and we will finish his temple work this month. I have visited cemeteries before and have felt spirits there but never as strong as with this man. I hope that I will have the opportunity to meet him, I am not sure why I felt him so strongly but I am sure I will find out someday.

Your faith and spirituality are so strong. I love reading your blog. I always feel so good after reading it. Thank you for sharing special experiences. My brother went to the open house too. He lives across the street. I will ask him about it.
That was a beautiful and touching story, Patricia. I had goose bumps all over. Thanks for sharing! My personal feeling but that tells me that your dad accepted the gospel and shared it with his friend. Now his friend wants what your dad has.
Wow what a great story! I didn't want to go through the work of taking the kids to another temple open house, but I guess it might be worth it!
