Who am I?

As most of you know, I am mixed and my kids are just mud pie. Chris is white and I usually write down other. Last week the kids were given the Iowa Test which is then send to the State Board of Education and then send to the Federal Government. Talia is very smart and so I was not surprise to find out that she had scored very high with lots of 1oo in a lot of areas of the test. Evan is very creative and fun loving but to my surprise he scored 93% wow totally happy about that. Today I saw the chart saying how the kids had done but it was broken down by ethnic groups and I wondered where my kids would fall under since I don't remember filling that out. I talked to the secretary who looked it up and come to find out that Talia has been grouped with Pacific Islander!! since she started there and Evan was under Hispanic. I thought it was so funny, Talia has been helping the Islanders in our school since Kinder, last year she scored 98% and the previous year she scored 99%. Here is my delama they don't have a box that says White,Hispanic, Native American, Israeli, German, and Spanish. I talked it over with Chris and he said he didn't care, he said asked the kids and I did here is what they have decided they want to be this year Talia Hispanic and Evan White. Here is my question are we not all just American? or better yet Children of God. I think is funny that we are told to accept others and not judge them but yet it is our Government that tells us that we must grouped our selves into this special groups. If we are all created equal then why do we separate each other and create this silly walls that all they do is hurt us and not bring us together. We should be working together, helping each other up and not worrying what color hair, eyes and skin we have. President Kennedy said it best Asked not what the Country can do for you but asked what can I do for my Country. America is made of amazing people who came from all over looking for a better life and I would like to think that America still is that place where you can become what ever you want to be if you work hard and give it your all.

Wow, that is hilarious! How fun is that to be able to choose whatever ethnicity that you want! You're right though, it does seem pretty silly and pointless. Maybe you have a new cause to help you change the world. =)

I have always felt the way you do, why can't we all just be Americans. I always thought it was crazy when I worked for the schools that children multiple ethnicities could choose the one they wanted.
